Carolina Lucci and her husband, Mostafa Hessein, began their business in July of 1995 in Leesburg across from the Rescue Squad and the Skate Park. The restaurant is named after Carolina's mother, whom everyone affectionately calls Mama Lucci. Mama is known in her native Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for her specialty recipes, as well as her warm and sincere smile.
Carolina and Mostafa met when Mostafa was running a pizzeria in Falls Church and Carolina was a Senior Hospitality Manager for a restaurant fine dining chain. They fell in love, and eventually she became his bride and they made their way to Leesburg to begin the Mama Lucci's tradition.
Carolina, Mostafa, and their family all contributed their talents to the beauty of the interior design of the restaurant, which seats about 60. Carolina's brother, Michael Lucci, crafted all the counter and tabletops with precision, a talent inherited from Michael Lucci, Sr., a certified kitchen and bath designer. The craftsman James Ursitti made and continues to make significant contributions as well.
Carolina's expertise in floral design provides an atmosphere of warmth and hominess in the dining room, as well as providing a lovely background for the dramatic Egyptian art from Mostafa's travels.
They provide catering for all your needs, large or small. Whether you need authentic food for your wedding, a few party platters, of just don't feel like cooking tonight, call Mama Lucci's. It will feel like coming home.
